Racing eleven historic boats every Saturday takes more people off the water than on it. Every volunteer role below names the actual job, the commitment it takes, and where your enquiry goes.
Insurance, stated plainly: since 30 June 2022 the national body's personal accident policy covers all club volunteers, including volunteers who are not members.
Rescue boat crew
Crew one of the club's support boats on race days: the prime responder stands by the fleet through the afternoon.
Race management
Help run the race from the start boat: timing, the start sequence, recording finishers.
Mark laying
Lay and recover the course marks from the club's work boat before and after racing.
After-race barbecue
Run the barbecue and raffle that end every race day.
Rigging and launch support
Help rig the historic boats on the park and get them down the ramp.
Race commentary
Call the race for spectators, in the tradition of the club's much loved commentators.
History and archive research
Research the club's boats, people and Honor Roll, and help answer descendants' enquiries.
Photography
Photograph race days and club life for the club's own record and its pages.
Boat maintenance
Keep eleven historic wooden boats sailing: winter refits and season repairs in the boatshed.
Newcomer contact
Be the named person who looks after a new sailor's first five sails.
Website and newsletter contributor
Publish your area's corner of the club site: race reports, social events, history, hospitality.
Event and open day support
Help run the club's social calendar: presentation nights, open days, community events.
