Report on Race 17 of the 2020-21 season, the Queen of the Harbour race and Race 1 of the Autumn Point Score. Betsy from The Scot was crowned 2021 Queen of the Harbour, an SFS tradition dating from 1926. Eight skiffs carried no.1 big rigs in a light easterly off Kurraba Point on the no.2 East course.
SEASON 2020-21 RACE 17 RESULTS
QUEEN OF THE HARBOUR 2021
Race 17 of the 2020-21 Season, Queen of the Harbour Race and Race One of the Autumn Point Score. Skippers and crews were greeted by overcast skies, warm and humid conditions and the prospect of a light easterly breeze for the day’s sailing. Eight skiffs were on hand with no.1 big rig the obvious choice as they prepared for the annual (and original, since 1926) SFS Queen of the Harbour race.
The race got underway from a handicap start off Kurraba Point on the no.2 East course into a light easterly breeze.
Scot, Britannia, Tangalooma and Aberdare were first off, followed by Top Weight off 13mins, Australia IV at 6 min and Yendys and The Mistake together off scratch.
Congratulations to SFS Queen of the Harbour 2021 Betsy on the Scot, and to the princesses, Jenny (Yendys), Dilla (Australia IV), Carol (Top Weight), Kirsty (Aberdare), Ombeline (The Mistake), Elektra (Britannia), Ellie & Coral (Tangalooma).
