Commodore Terry Stewart and Vice President Rob Gordon step down from the board, with Marshall Flanagan becoming Commodore, Phil Franklin Vice Commodore and Don Buckley Vice President. Ann Prosser and Kerrie Boyd join as casual appointments.
CHANGES TO THE SFS BOARD After being on the SFS board since 2015 and 2016 respectively, SFS Commodore, Terry Stewart and SFS Vice President, Rob Gordon have announced to the board that they did not intend to stand for re-election to the SFS board at the AGM this year. Terry has handed over Commodore responsibilities to Vice Commodore, Marshall Flanagan, with SFS Director, Phil Franklin moving to Vice Commodore. Terry will remain on the SFS Sailing Committee as Rear Commodore and will continue to skipper the mighty Australia IV.
Rob will hand over the Vice President role to long standing SFS Director, Don Buckley. We hope that Rob will continue on as our ‘Chief Ferry Officer’ once the club secures a ferry for the season. The board would like to thank Terry and Rob for their past, present and future dedication to the success of the SFS and official handovers and acknowledgements will take place at the AGM. The board have appointed SFS Sailing Member (and core crew member on Yendys) Ann Prosser, and local SFS Sailing member, Kerrie Boyd as casual vacancies. Ann is a finance professional and will take on a role as Assistant Treasurer and Kerrie, who was formerly a director and Secretary of SFS will act as Assistant Secretary to Rolf Cohen. In line with the SFS Constitution, these appointments are to be voted on by the members at the next AGM.
NOTICE OF AGM Keep an eye out for the upcoming AGM. The board is aiming for late September, or early October.
