WHAT ARE THE FLAGS AT THE SQUADDIE?
Visual signalling is a maritime and sailing tradition. Yachting Australia recently shared information on a global initiative originating at the San Francisco Yacht Club (SFYC). The SFYC wanted to communicate with other clubs and their members to let them know that the Yacht Club will be there for them when they return after the COVID-19 pandemic. They have raised the signal flags C-G over 1 to display the message I WILL STAND BY TO ASSIST YOU The international code of signals applies around the world, and according to SFYC Rear Commodore, Christopher Lacey, these signal flags are now flying across 3 continents. The SFS shares the sentiment of the SFYC and are flying the C-G-1 flags from our flagstaff.
Thanks to our neighbour in Careening Cove, Harry West Flags for their support. (https://www.harrywestflags.com.au/)
We are standing by and cannot wait to see you soon back at The Squaddie!
