The story

The club's record of this boat's original history is short. If you know more, the club's historian would like to hear from you through the contribution route.

Australia I was built by Norman Wright Jnr. The skipper was Bill Stanley. Australia won the Australian Championship on Sydney Harbour in the 1946-47 season.

The original skiff was of break-through design, having a narrower beam than others, and she is FAST.

The replica was commissioned by John Winning and dedicated to his father “Choc” Winning and his uncle, Dick Winning, who sailed on the original.
